Introduction
Here The purpose of this volume is to bring the
Deontological Theory system of Virtue Morality into practical operation effect use –
to give to opinion the power of action operation. Having produced laid down
a rule of conduct, it is intended to show its applicability
to the daily concerns of life – and its aptitude for the
creation of human happiness & the diminution of
human misery.
The Theory of the Social science has been
largely developed in the Volume dedicated to the
topic. With a view to the better understanding & greater usefulness of
the practical application Deontological Code Law it appears
desirable to travel revert even though hurriedly, even briefly to the
principles which it was not our object to establish, of in
order that they may be at hand for use, as the
various cases of for abstention & action present themselves.
The value of the philosophical instrument will not, it is
believed, be diminished lessened in the estimate either of
wisdom or of virtue when it that instrument is seen busied in its
moral work. The present Volume portion of our work labor
will be to the intelligent Moralist what
Reports of Cases adjudged – or set down for judgment are to
the inquiring Jurisconsult – & if it be found that
our Legislation leads in all cases to satisfactory decisions
a tolerable evidence will be given of the excellence
of our the Code recommended.
