The produce to the Customs, of the whole of the Imports from Europe,
is nearly 51 pr. Cent on the official value, – the amount being Fourteen
Millions and three quarters Sterling, and the Duties received, nearly
Seven Millions. But, of these Seven Millions, the Imports from France
produce nearly Five Millions (£1,991,841:16:8 Stg); so that while the
amounts of Imports from France is only one seventh of the whole amount
of European articles imported, that seventh in amount produces two sevenths
of the Revenue, or double the average amount of Customhouse Duties levied,

£870,224:18:10. – In the amount of Imports, the different countries
stand in the following order.
