Between what is susceptible of practical useful applicable and
what is not susceptible of practically useful application
why is it that the line ought to be drawn? What is it
that calls upon professional men engaged in the teaching
of this branch of art and science to take this task upon
themselves?
Answer. That persons who either can not afford
or on any other account are not willing to bestow
the any part of their time upon any parts of the field
from which no practical use can be may
not by their ignorance of this distinction, be drawn
into any such the correspondent unapplication of time and labour.
A moral transgressionthough unpunishable an injury analogous to the crime
called fraudulent obtainment or obtainment of money
in false pretences would be the act of that teacher
who knowing that the purpose of the pupil wasto be not
