Omitt in
SS. Beddoes' School defended: in
All true Mathematics is Physics.
Thus it is by the humble and sincere desire of
rendering himself useful to mankind, by assistancecontribution made
to an association which has for its object, the giving
extent in every sense of the word to useful instruction
the writer of these pages, finds and that not without
very serious and as well as unfeigned regret, that he has fallen into
a sort of system which at Edinburgh and probably
in many other places seats of learning, as deemed here
and for true it is that such is his fortune, undone
this point respect of view it has misfortune, that the he betrays
to that School to which Dr Beddoes in 1793. Dr
Beddoes in 1811 the present Mr Professor Lister, not to
speak of Mr Lock werehave been found to belong. To
the same School it was moreover his good as ill
fortune to as may be from what is above suspected, many years before thatthe
work of Dr Beddoes in the subject was published, and
perhaps before that ingenious philosophy belonged or had
been sent to any School.
