While By those two intimately connected yet distinguishable not undistinguishable
operations, viz. the application of the use indicating
and that of the key presenting principle, went on together
– the order of invention i.e the order in
which the several propositions or groupes of propositions
came to be invented and would together in conjunction with the
order of demonstration, i.e. the order in which for
the purpose of demonstration it is either necessary
or most convenient that they should be presented, would
be brought to light.

But in so far proportion as the order of invention
came thus to be detected elicited and displayed brought to view as that
same proportion would it be rendered manifest not
that different
that, and how, theory was
found by abstraction out of practice and in what manner it was to be formed, ideas more
and more general out of particulars and in a word
originating originally out of individual ones.
