Chrestom. Tab I Inserenda
☞ At the end of 1. in Algebra
Invariably Intimately connected with the
above ideas, all of which have
instruction more particularly
and more prominently in view, is
another of which the relation
to that purpose will not be
found so direct or so extensive.
The properties, which the
various sorts of figures, of which,
the science of geometry,
the takes cognizance, have
already been found to possess,
are they all already ascertained those properties
it in proportion they all
that in the nature of the case
are capable of being as ascertained?
If not, what are there which
still remain to be ascertained?
To these questions
that the nature of the case
admits of an answer, the answer
will scarcely, in the eyes
of any person more or less
conversant in in the
science be an unembarrassing
one. It is by the union of the
art of the logician with the
science of the mathematician
that the answer to these questions,
if it be their destiny to
receive any, must be returned.
