Every proposition in mathematics
is the sort of proposition
called stated in the logical
sense a general one: and it is
that sort of general
proposition which in the same
sense is stiled an universal
one.
In so far as there exists any
individual subject, capable of
being designated with propriety
by the name appellation in
which the assertion conveyed
expressed by that general proposition
is actually exemplified,
that general proposition is
true, actually true.
In so far as it is considered
as possible that some individual
in which if it existed
that same general proposition
would receive its exemplification
should be in existence
that general position is in so
far considered as potentially
and in that case as more or less
probable probably or likely to
be true.
In so far as it actually has
any such exemplification as
above a mathematical proposition
is also at the same time
a physical one actually a physical one.
