Chrest. Tab. II
To Euclid the work of Euclid the father of mathematics, and
afterwards after him with works of other mathematicians of what may be called objections the mathematical
cast have at different times been made, and from
most if not from all attacks of this sort they have
been not only strenuously but triumphantly defended.
Considered Contemplated in what may be called a logical, and
in some instances a grammatical point of view, they
would be found exposed to objections in no inconsiderable
number against which, it may be averred
with some confidence, no such defence would be
found capable of being made.
To Of this class of imperfections two a few examples have
been already given. On the occasion of the exemplification
which it has been found advisable to give of
the principle termed the Key presenting principle

seemed necessary for the purpose of elucidation, have
been added.
