HAZELWOOD SCHOOL.
At the request of the Committee, I take the liberty of laying
before you, the account of the school fund for the closing half-year.
You will observe, that numerous books have been purchased
by the Committee for the school library, and I feel happy in stating
that these are not the only additions that have been made to it, several
books having been presented, by Messrs. Hill and other friends to
the school.
The expence of the coin has considerably decreased, contrary
to the apprehensions of the Committee; this is considered as owing to
some recent regulations tending to lessen the quantity in circulation;
and thus by raising its value, to render the coin an object of greater
care.
With respectful hopes that the half-year's expenditure will
meet with your approbation,
I have the honour to be,
Your obedient servant,
John Jones,
CHAIRMAN.
