In many sorts of Instruments (according to an usage
invariably pursued) the whole instruments, tho it
may take up twenty skins of parchment, forms
but a single sentence. There will be divided into
as many sentences as there are they contain heads.

The several particulars which enter into the composition
of each sort of instrument as such, will be extracted
selected and sorted† † arranged marshalled under heads.

These heads will be placed along the margin
of each instrument, as catchwords to guide the eye.
By this means contrivance favour each hand whenever in person has occasion
the to peruse it, a deed, he will be conducted in an
instant to the head †† on every occasion of perusal he [wants has occasion for] he looks for.

the ideas – 2. Length of lines – Apprehensibility
Mechanical, from the signs. 3. Use to the draughtsman: By its - it shews him the extent nature of of his task: and
by its regularity, and it secures him against omitting any
thing that should be inserted. It is equally a guide
to the Judgment of the draughtsman in composing,
and to the apprehension eye of the party interested of the client in [reading]
perusing [as occasion calls].
