A thorough-faced Lawyer eyes what he calls

Securing it through the medium of private professional
or individual
interest he sees in it a subject on which
his wits may at any rate be sharpened be [exercised] and by which
peradventure his pockets may be filled. For other aspect it with him does it bear show to him who ventures

it he looks on it with concern: [as having it for the offspring of weakness in the Legislator, and the parent

seeing that in
the Legislator it is the offspring of weakness;

Wherein lies the difference between Law and
Statute? and between interpretation and construction? He has given in one place a set of 5 rules
for concerning the Interpretation of a Law: and in another
place as other set of 10 rules of concerning the construction
of a Statute.
