Now I who that write this, am, may it please the
reader, am a Counsellor in this same Equity as well as Law:
but, not having been able to remember all I hear,
nor to hear where I am not present, nor to
be present at in to Courts at once, nor in any
of them, before my birth I was here, the truth is I know very little
of the matter. This concerns me not much,
seeing that others are in the a case not widely different –
[With us who] ... common ignorance is common consolation] We may be endure it, and be patient, [under the cause of] that an uncertainty by which we profit.
But how fares it with the public who consult
us? Legislators! Judges! Parents and Guardians of
the Law and Guardians) Fr on you be I case the scandal of our [common] ignorance!
The Common Law is an assemblage of petitions
rules, feigned after the usage of those that compose
the Statute Law
