Sect. Parts of a Law. (20
"that says", "Thou shall not steal" implies a de—
"claration that stealing is a crime. And we have
"soon" (that is as it comes to the author, the they
come to that I have
causes just)
seen no such thing that in things naturally
indifferent, the very price of right and
wrong depends (upon what? would one think?)
upon the direction of the laws to do or to o—
mit it.
What we have seen is what has been telling us
so at least he said then of the direction declaratory part, and of a some—
thing I don't know what that depended upon
it: now he says that their something depends upon
the directory; and that it is that, that we have
seen. The truth seems to be, that not knowing
the difference between a part that he has heard
of under the name of the declaratory, and as
part that he has heard of under the name
of directory, and not having perfectly settled
with himself the meaning of "depending" he
can not tell whether it is upon the declato—
ry that the aforesaid something depends, or upon the
directory, or upon both.
