SECT: Interpretation. 7
signs: I have had recourse to what other assistances
I could think of for understanding of the Law: but
all in vain. I want somebody to do it for me.
But this somebody to answer my purpose fully,
must be somebody who can make the conduct of
the Law in either case answerable to his prediction.
Who can and will in the 1st case make the Law punish me
as for a libel for publishing my observations,
if he thinks that, according to the meaning of the Legislature
those observations ought to be deemed
a Libel: who can ensure me against punishment,
if he thinks that they ought not.][ Who
can and will in the second case cause the part in
question of my estate to go according to the disposition
I mean to make of it , if he thinks
that according to the meaning of the Legislator
that disposition ought to be deemed a valid one:
that is by punishing any who shall attempt to
deal with it otherwise than as I have appointed:
who can & will by like means, make it go according to any
valid disposition I may have made succedaneous to thissubstituted in case of the
invalidity of this or to any the ordinary successor
in case of no such disposition, who can and will
I say do this, if he thinks my part the disposition in question
ought not to be deemed a valid one.
