genus: which genus, from this exemplification of it
appears to be one entirely different from that one
might otherwise have expected. It is not the purchasing
provisions in general, (as this <add>next of the declares,)</add> that is meant to be prohibited
but is the hoarding (whatever genus it be about the word [provisions] stands for) that sort of provision which
is a "provision" to have Abbies and Priories in
"England."
What is remarkable is that in the very passage
the purpose of which was to refer the means explana—
tion to the hard topic of subject—matter; on which
expressed in and by the Law; be himself expressly refers
it to another topic that is without extreme to the
Law: I mean, the end. The end of a , as
I have already inherited is either the suppression
of some mischief: or the attainment of some
benefit: In this case it is the suppression of a
mischief: "the usurpations of the papal see."
which mischief he has been recommending to consider:
"when we consider that this statute was made to
