19. STATUTE LAW. Kinds of Statues. Public and Private

A statute that concerns all the Clergy (a reasons multitude

This argument of Gilberts is elliptical. To be complete
it should have said: it should stand thus: "The religion of the King—

kingdom. The religion of the clergy is the reli—
gion of the kingdom: the revenues of the clergy
are the religion of the clergy.
