"priores contrarias abrogant". Our author is so
well satisfied with any body's notion who lived
a long while ago, especially if they talked in Latin
that it will seldom fail to pass with him at any time for a
reason: and what ground they had for it, is
no matter not worth enquiring about.
Laws then abrogate prior Laws that are contrary:
but this⊞ ⊞ he cautiously advertises is to be understood only when they
really are contrary. "But this is to be understood, only
"when the latter Statute is couched in negative
"terms or by it's matter necessarily implies
