Common Law. Particular Laws.
NOTE [b]
primarily applied. To apply [them to future case] the
portions of Jurisprudence that treat of them to be any future
case a further abstraction must be made than
[has been made] is expressed by the terms employ'd in [it]
that portion of Jurisprudence.
However the Legislator if he declares not the sorts himself
that are the objects of his future will, he declares
the words from which he will have men make up
their own ideas of such sorts. If he gives not the
words of any rule, at least he gives the words of an
example.
I am concerned sensible that what is the observations contained in this
note are not so clear as they might be made by the
help of examples: but to give examples would require
discussions too ample for the limits of this design.
I mean not therefore that These observations have given, are given only by any should be taken by any
of which thing more than loose hints and undigested
hints.
