1828 Sept. 8
Blackstone
Under Law as it she ought to be, squabbles about jurisdiction,
none. How should there be? when there is Nothing is there Under law, nothing is there to
be got by it. By the Judge first applied to, if all the evidence is
within his reach, the suit begun is likewise ended. If, in any
part it be without not within his Judge store but within that of another
Judge, he either sends issues in the party to the such other Judge as
required to elicit the evidence, or if the matter of fact
requisite is sufficiently simple, and clear of need of cross-examination,
settles interrogations for the elicitation of it. The latter cases
he will take of necessity where the of the evidence is in a distant
dependency, or the dominion of a foreign state.
Now for, Law as it is. What now says Law as it is?
What, on this occasion does Law as it is?
