Blackstone or Civil Code

In the case of an obligation to render a service, the
two legal effects in this conjoined: the service or say
the benefit allotted to the one party, the burthen to the other.

And not the good attached to the benefit constitutes
the rational cause of the dispersion or say allotment
so made.
