1828 Sept. 27
Blackstone on Civil Code

Ch. Universal Jurisprudence
(3 §. Contracts in Legal dealings
Analysis

12
As to me the benefit
derived from another
simultaneous act the
transmission of money

As to me that benefit I receive is produced by an
act which though performed at the same time with the
above, is the act of though of the same nature performed by a different person in relation to a different
subject: that is to say the money which by a similar correspondent
act of transmission you transmitt to me in return

13
So in the case of a
house

So if instead of the table on which I am writing, it
were the House in a room of which the table stands

14
So in the case of
a legal release

So if, you having a legal claim to or say demand
upon this same house you were to execute in my favor
what the lawyers in English/the Great British Law language call a Release. I giving you money for it There would in other
words be and have the effect of an act of transmission in relation
to it an act of sale, as before.
