to objection

As to a code, had avoidance been possible the
endeavour would here have been to avoid altogether the mention
of it, and the mention of it — yes and even the remotest
mention attention to it. But this was found altogether impossible.
Possible how should it have been found to be when by every
time written or read upon the subject thought bestowed
upon the subject, the demand for this one thing needful
