& extinction — under
these every thing relating to
law may be ranked.

and compounds — under one or other of these heads
may every thing that belongs to rights, consequently thence
every thing that belongs to law, be ranked.

These subject matters are
corporeal or incorporeal.

Corporeal and incorporeal — under one or other of these
heads may all subject matter s or rights and obligations be included.

Corporeal — 1. persons 2. things

real beings
are both Incorporeal subj these

Incorporeal are fictitious
articles spoken of as real ones.

Incorporeal subject matters are fictitious entities feigned
under the need of necessity for the purposes of discourse, and spoken of as if
they were real ones.

The number of corporeal are determinate —
of incorporeal, not.

Of the sorts of corporeal subject matters as above, they being really executed the
number is determinate: the sorts of incorporeal subject matters — they
being fictitious— the number is indeterminate.

Power, reputation, condition —
fictitious subject matter.
This was seen in Penal Code

Power, reputation, condition in life — in these three
may be seen the fictitious subject matters to which for the purpose
of conferring shewing how rights are conferred, it is
at once necessary and sufficient to give them imaginary
existence. The use made of them will be seen when the
time comes for speaking of the Penal Code
