Command prohibitive – to
do a negative act: mandative
a positive.

To prevent me taking your
coat, prohibition to me –
in case of non-compliance
mandate to Judge commanding
him to have me beaten.

To make these commands
known, forms employed
direct & indirect.

Direct form 1.
1. To me. "Take not V's coat".
2. To Judge "Beat Cupidus
if he does take the coat".
Form – the double imperative.
2 Single imperative "Take
"not coat" &c
3 Commentory imperative
"On pain of being beaten, take No" &c.
4 Hypothetically –
& imperative "If you take
"coat, – you shall be beaten, or
"Judge shall have you beaten"
This the form of Acts of Parlt.
