(f) [Subordination] Where this word is employed To the relation
between functionary and functionary in any number of ranks one under another is that to for the designation
of which this word is most commonly employed: but in a
more extended sense it is not unfrequently employed to designate the relation between ruler or rulers on the one
part, and subjects on the other, without any other regard reference to
ranks in any other shape.
The term subordination, has f Of subordination as between functionary and functionary
there are two distinguishable modes: 1. Subordination by dislocability A Conjugate to the word subordination indicative of the effect of the sort of
and relation in question is the term subordinate indicative of the individual between and another individual the relation
has place. For the designation of this other individual, the correlative term superordinage
may by analogy be
very aptly become
expressively employed.
In both cases Subordination has for its object the causing execution
and effect to be given by the acts of the subordinate to the will
declared or undeclared of the superordinate.
For producing this effect there two distinguishables are
in use to be employed: hence of the effect itself two distinguishable
modes: 1. subordination by dislocability: 2. subordination by
punibility: subordination by dis
Subordination by dislocability has place in so far
as the subordinate functionary is liable to be distracted by
the act i.e. is declared an expression of the will or other act performed for that purpose of the Superordinate.
Subordination by punibility has place in so far as
the subordinate is liable to be punished in consequence
and pursuance of the will an expression of the act
of an act expression of will or other act performed for that
purpose by the Superordinate.
