Constitut. Code. II. Exposition

On the other hand means of producing to a certain degree
the effect in question in the subordinate may by the subordinate be produced in
the conduct of the subordinate without legal means of subordination
in either of those shapes: namely by mere vexation
so it be unpunishable: vexation, in a variety of shapes
scarcely describable shapes. Among In this way By this means
among coordinates, self dislocation dislocation by a resignation is
not unfrequently seen produced
the dislocation of one
is not unfrequently seen produced by vexation inflicted on
him by another: Here then even over a coordinate one functionary
is power exercised a power of causing execution and
effect to be given to his will, at the possessed and exercised
by a coordinate functionary: a power which in
the efficiency of which is as the value of the office in the
eyes of him over whom it is exercised: and if in
this way such be the power exercisable by a coordinate
over a coordinate, much more may it by a superordinate
over a subordinate.

In this case, all the restraints that have by which the
power of the superordinate over the subordinate is weakened
as above, are out of the case have no place, namely the odium, delay
and vexation.

Whether in office or out of office its a sort of

without subjection by dislocability, subjection by punibility,
or subjection by unpunishable vexability as above: namely
1. by inferiority of power over a common subject: 2. by appetites
for the the matter of good – the matter of reward obtainable at the in any shape considered as
obtainable by the favour of the superior whose superiority is
thus constituted. But these relations belong not to the present case
subject. For the case in which they are respectively exemplified see below.
