On this as on every occasion, the desire of each individual is
to maximize his own individual happiness: and this, in so far as
necessary be the va at the expence and in so far as necessary by the
sacrifice of the happiness of every other individual: exceptions, too
few in number to have influence on the conduct of the aggregate body.
Of In this desire then the making accomplishment of that same sinister sacrifice would of course
be included, if to the eyes of the individual any considerable possibility
of success in the endeavours to accomplish that same
sinister sacrifice presented itself. But to the so circumstanced situated
are is man in the case of the vast majority of that same body that to
their eyes not any the smallest chance of succeeding in
any such endeavour can ever present itself. For as to all
such these points each individual would stand assured of finding his own individual strength opposite to the conjunct strength of all the others.

But, in the field of action points parts are not wanting on in relation to
which each man the be every person happiness may be obtained by every
person without any equal diminution of the happiness of any
other person. As to all these points, so far from finding itself
opposed by the conjunct strength of every other, it will naturally
and necessarily, so far as desire goes at least as depends uon desire, find itself supported and
assisted by the conjunct strength of every other.

Then go to intellectual aptitude: showing how it turns leans on do of those in highest
estimation: that as to active aptitude, none here necessary: that being the
exclusive attribute of the Operative authorities.

Monarchic aristocracy – Member- – Democracies.
