Constitut. Code
Idle the its difference
like good and bad things
A beneficial thing or not .
To the Monarch as such – to every Monarch that is, or was
or will be the great body of the people are have been and will be an object of
hatred and contempt: of hatred, in a variety of accounts: of
hatred were it on their part only for the idea of the hatred necessarily associated with that of ideas which the consciousness of
the extortion and oppression of which exercised by him over them
of hatred for the resistance opposed if not by their will by
the nature of the case to the ulterior qualification of his appetites
of all kinds, all of them insatiable, all of them the
gratification obtained or successes after at their expence: hence
to all his other less manifestly hostile appetites is added the appetite
for vengeance at the expence of justice.
Of his contempt they would be seen to be the objects, were
it only for their submission to such a load of injury, and
the intellectual weakness indicated by the effect produced by the effect
every instrument of delusion by which by the operation of which
they are brought to look upon the power of their most
maleficent enemy as interwoven with plain existence. And will
indeed can they may he be an object of contempt who speaks of unceasing experience
can by any instrument of delusion have been brought to behold in his next coming his best friend.
From his hatred contempt no individual of any class
or rank stands exampled: from his hatred these and these
alone, in whom for the rates of that share which he allows
to them out of the product of his extortion he beholds
so many competitors for his favour, ever ready and ever
zealous instruments of his every will.
To Of the compound of hatred and contempt – of hatred in
the shape of physical antipathy and disgust – are in a more particular
manner exposed the objects than by whose productive labour the corporeal
instruments of his felicity in all their shapes are the produce:
never but associated with the idea of physical impurity
in all its shapes, offensive to all his sense, covered with dirt seat and rags do these persons present
themselves to his view: covered with dirt, seat and rags.
