Constitut. Code

Exposition. Security is – for good in every shape, and as well as against evil
in every shape. It is therefore for property – the matter
of subsistence and abundance: as well as for person against evil in whatever shape a mans person body and mind included can be the subject of it, for power, reputation
and condition in life: for power whether power either, domestic
or political. Condition in life, in so far as it is
good, and thus an object of virtue is so in respect to property
power reputation which in some shape or other, power which
in some shape or other, or reputation which in some
shape or other are respectively attached to it.

To provide security against mischief evil at the hands
of those internal and so long as they continue in their
such their situation irresistible enemies or more particularly in a more
especial manner
the business and end in view and business of the Constitutional branch of law,
and thereby of the present Code.
