Constitut. Code
(a) [Undivided] Question. Why undivided
Answer. Reason
From In every mode of division which in this case can have place
evil is the result: and the evil is the greater the more complicated the
mode.
So multitudinous are the diversifications of which the
division of power is susceptible, when coupled with the modifications diversifications
of which the Constitutive power is susceptible, and those of
with which the disposition made of the Executive power in its
several two branches is susceptible, that the clearest and strictest
mode of bringing the subject to view seems to be the taking for
example the two forms of government to which have most
extensively been looked to when the question respecting aptitude
absolute and comparative has been discussed. These are the
Representative and Federative Democracy of the Anglo American
United States, and the limited or say mixt Monarchy of
England.
