§ 1. Definition and Expositions

in all persons employed

Functions, Offices, Commissions

Expence pecuniary, miscellaneous
or say non-pecuniary
burthens: ex. gr.
of forced military service
with or without
consent – do. as to pay.
Office, a single function –
an aggregate of functions,
a factitious entity to
which functions are
attached.
By one invested with
office, situation is
filled.

Consideration as to every
office.
1. Nature. 2. Efficient
cause of a man's being
located placed in it: do. of his
being dislocated – displaced
out of it.

operated upon in the
way of mandate, or prohibition

attached to want of obsequiousness
to such enactments

punishment or of compensation
to parties aggrieved
by such disobedience.
