§.10 Power of deputation. Self-suppletive function
Art. 1. To every Judge Immediate belongs the power of
deputation; and the obligation of exercising it.
Art. 2. In the exercise of this power, the Principal
locates Deputes of two sorts — permanent & occasional. As
to the permanent see Ch. XIII: as to the occasional — Ch. XIV.
By acceptance of the office, the principal contracts not only
for the performance, but for the apt and complete performance
of the services belonging to it.
Art. 3. In the case of this Office the principal is not, as
in the case of the offices of Prime Minister, and minister, restricted
to the nomination of one Depute. The quantity of business
not being till after long experience, open to calculation
and being at all times exposed to fluctuation, no direct limits
are put to the number of Deputes, permanent or occasional
locable in this office. For the sort of limitation, indirectly
resulting from other arrangements, see §.10. Locable who:

In each Immediate Judicatory, within [ ] days
after his own location, the Judge first located under this
Code, locates one Depute permanent: others as need arises.
