§.18. Preinterpretative function

Art. 1. Preinterpretative
function. Exercised this
where an applicant
stating a particular portion

of the Judge would be.

Art.1. Preinterpretative function. Of The occasion on which this function
is are exercised, is when that of an application, made by any by any person
individual person stating bringing to view a particular Article or number of Articles portion of the Pannomion
in the body of the law, and requesting to the view of the Judge, of the Judge what, in
case of a suit thereupon grounded, appears in, the whole body of the law will be the import by him ascribed to it
one body portion of the began upon the part in question and the decree pronounced in consequence: all such other

Art. 2. Now, if reasonable
cause of doubt appears,
the Judge will
not refuse to the parties

an exemption from the
vexation and expence of
litigation.

Art. 2. In this case, if reasonable cause of doubt appears,
the Judge will with reference to the individual and the the
public, the security which, by the removal of it would be
produced; nor to the individual applicant, if so it be that he has an
interest in the import ascribed to the law portion of the law in question, the like security together
with the exemption from the vexation and expence inseparable
from litigation.

Art. 3. Hereupon Judge
proposes amendment as
per §. 16. if it appears
to him that by the particular
good of the elucidation
the general evil produced
by every addition to the
bulk of the rule of action
will be outweighed.

Art. 3 If to the Judge it should, on the occasion, appears, that by a correspondent amendment, doubt ambiguity or obscurity could may
