Ch. XII Propositions Judiciary
§.28 Locable who
Non-locable, Advocates
Advocates not.
Familiar with acts of the most consummate depravity
they are accustomed to regard them without abhorrence accustomed
to derive advantage from them in a variety of shapes
beholding in the aggregate of them a source of the matter of
prosperity in all its shapes they regard it with an eye of complacency,
if then they have not been observed to be engaged in it
with more frequency than persons of other classes it is partly
because they have such continual occasion to make observation
of the consequences with which it is followed in the case of the actors
partly because deriving profit to so large an amount under
licence and without danger they have the life need to seek it
in paths beset with danger.
