Art. The classes of persons between whom in respect
consideration of the evil effects liable to be produced by
secrecy in their mutual intercourse such it may be of use that
such secrecy be prevented may be thus enumerated
1 Examinee & examined
1. Witness under examination, and witness waiting to be examined.
Evil effect In case of mendacity indicated
by the witness in waiting, opportunity of shaping his testimony
to the testimony of the witness under examination
Remedy Witness Waiting Chamber in which Witnesses
waiting for examination to be examined while the applicant or a witness
of his is under examination

2. Witness under examination, and during that time
either in confederacy with him prompting him by words or
signs. Remedy. Placing the witness while in the Examination
station in such sort that no signs can be received
and understood by him, without its being perceived by the
Judge and others. This will effect will be accomplished, if
during his examination he faces his face is towards the Judge and the Quasi-Jury and is thus continually visible
to them: while his back is turned, of all those, from any
such mendacity assisting information being stationed behind either his
back, or in such sort on one side that he could not receive
information from them without being seen or suspected to turn to them
for that purpose.
