Uncommissioned prehension warranting function. This function
though by the supposition not exercised in virtue of any warrant
from the Judge is exercised in and of the authority of the
Judge. The functionary to exercise this function would be
the Headman. He is the better fitted for it as being the more imposing
character of the two: being the creature the object of the

good opinion of the people he would be least likely to abuse
