Under the here proposed Code, the Headman if applied to

The next That day or the next the individual thus distracted
would repair to the Immediate Judicature, and that day or the
next the delinquent would be called before it, and obliged to
make compensation to the applicant for his loss of time. On the
occasion of the suit this application no pecuniary pence to either
man.

In England were a the man ill enough advised to the
attempt to call the wilfully scornfully negligent functionary to account
would cost the party thus injured a hundred pound or so, and
so he made it, it would be abortive. One Judicatory
alone is there at in which it could be made, and it might
as well be made in the Judicatory in which the delinquent was
himself set Judge as in that. Gentlemen who serve their
King and Country in this capacity for nothing are not to be
harrassed by frivolous accusation in no corrupt
here so much is imputed much less proved. W
Gentlemen such as these punish witness corrupt
actions: and impute to them exempt
and that any such motive should be imputed to them
is not to be endured. Such has always been such will
always be the language of my Ld Chief Justice. Suppose
by way of a f a Gentleman of this class dis of seeing himself punished
for corrupt motives: would he be able to succeed? the how will so ever
odds would be against him the success of it. What Would he be indulged
on any such whim? Not he indeed. The character of his Majesty's
Government is at stake: that must be preserved at any rate.
Yes, and in any securing them accordingly is it preserved.
When Where is openly and continually . can any
thing less than impunity ever follow: To follow creatures of the
same
Creator, how can impunity
be ever refused by
impunishable Judges?
Judges to whom to impute
guilt were it ever
so flagrant is, under a law of their own making ever punishable and if was committed would assuredly be a punished crime.
