Constitutional Code. U.S.Appendix
Ch. VI. Legislature Features discarded
§. 11. Corporations U.S. House, one Senate Age 30.
Rationale
Here could do a mischief unless they the Assembly old.
Young not so liable to be as the old.
The clause requiring a Senator not to be less than 30 years of age
must not here be remitted. Looked into a little beyond the surface this will
be found to belong to the category catalogue of nugatory Senators, a catalogue
of no inconsiderable length in the field of legislature.
It is grounded in mere theory – loose and superficial theory –
not only not imputed by experience but even opposed by experience
appropriate experience.
1. Under 30 years of age if in that situation a man is likely
to be less apt than a man that age in some respects
he is likely to be more apt in other respects: and those in which
he is likely to be most apt are of the greatest importance.
In appropriate moral aptitude he is likely to be superior
likely because at the certain age a man is more likely to be influenced
by social affection in despite of self-regarding and than
at the more advanced-age. in a word is the season of
virtue.
2. For any deficiency in moral aptitude no abundance in
appropriate aptitude in any other shape , is
to : aggregate aptitude instead of being
encreased is lessened by it.
But if appropriate aptitude in other shapes be taken into
account, in one shape namely appropriate active aptitude
so far from being lessened, if experience is to it is encreased
by it. Scarcely are had they exceeded the age of 21 when Pitt the
First lures of the two parties distinguished Number above the
leader.
3. A man under 30 is less likely to be chosen than a man above 30
and so in general the younger a man is the ff two men solely of
them is not at the apt age of , the elder is more likely to be
chosen than the younger. Why? Because whatsoever be the qualities that are
likely to be recommend a man to preference on this occasion, the older a man
is, the longer is the time he has had for bringing them to view.+
+ So in favour of rules and books give this advantage.
