PERJURY. Intensity of averment.
if, being a legitimate son, he had been seen perusing the
Register of his Father & Mother's having been married
but twenty years before: or from having been over-heard to
declare that he was not of Age but that he would never
of taken the chance of being detected.
Tis from these considerations which might be exhibited
on in a much more careful manner that I conclude
it proper to subjoin an Aphorism to this effect
APHORISM.
It may be Perjury, tho' a man speak & party depose with
gratifying expressions: as that he believes, or as he
remembers, or tho' he deny himself to be seen.
Perjury is an
Act Deliberated
so perhaps the
disposition of it, at
least the Aphorism
need not have place
in the Impromptituary Code.
