Decr 1805.
Evidence

while those by whom justice is administered for less than 7s and
without a farthing of recompense to themselves are looked down upon
as a mob of petty plebeian tradesmen and mechanicks not worth notice.

Think that the recovery of the 41s besides being subject to
delays upon delays is subject to contingencies upon contingencies,
none of them having any the slightest connection with the merits
which

Think that the debt of 41s is adjudged by those who
refuse ever to set eyes on the parties till at the last days conclusion
of the cause after they have run the gauntletesses through the
of plunderers: refuse at all other times to mark keep the parties at all times out
of their presence
as to see them, refuse refusing even then to hear them or at least
to hear them to any purpose, refusing to hear them so long
as it is possible to avoid it, and accordingly ninety times instances
out of a hundred actually avoiding it –

while those by whom justice is administered in the case of
the 39s take care to see both parties in the first instance at the very outset of the cause
by which means it is that the same term that gives
commencement gives termination to the cause.

Think that in the case of the 41s directly and indirectly
more is made out of the case by those whom justice is thus administered by the dispensing hand
than the amount of the debt: while by those by whom
justice in is in the case of the 39s and by whom
it would be administered at the same expence and in the same
terms of it rose to the 41s not a penny is made.

Think that by those by whom justice is administered in the
case of the 41s the conduct of those by whom it is administered in the
case of the 39s is sitting in judgment are criticized canvassed and looked down upon with great consummate gravity and great state.
