Evidence

Here we see the cork extracting machine with its combination comprehending and
exhausting all the powers of mechanism:
of mechanical powers: as to the cork-screw, it is an
instrument called a Summons, an instrument in constant
use in the hands of every every Justice of Peace, and employed
without grudging in a watever dispute comes upon the carpet,
value so many pence or so many shillings.

The wonder is that with how by the combined powers of
technical law and technical Law and Equity, any article of written evidence that a man would
be glad not to produce should ever be forthcoming. The man
who they minute has the parchment in his hands, shift it
into another man's hands the next: how are you to follow it?
Though there be 50 such hands, a Justice of the Peace, whose power jurisdiction is given to him, follows the thing up to the last of them.
These are the two systems of machinery, and when you have
been working with them for months and years, these strike
the cork in the bottle, fast as ever.

On this occasion What was in the power of wickedness and or stupidity to do
defeating the purposes ends of justice, Judges of both sorts
have joined in doing: the man who knows he is in the wrong,
and means injustice, how deficient must he or his Attorney
be, if ever he suffers the deed to be applied to its destined use.

All over Throughout the field of technicality law may be seen behold Judges
with the jus in their hands, offering it to as many
as will buy it – and wicked men with their Attorneys, either
no wicked enough, or too stupid, to become customers.
