Evidence – Introdn Sketch or Abridged
Considered as a ground of exclusion improbity will be
either unprobabiliti improbity at large, or improbity in a
shape applying in an especial manner to testimonial
trustworthiness – improbity in respect of relation to veracity.
1. Improbity at large – higher orders.
Of Improbity at large the token or evidentiary circumstances
will be either general, i.e. ex. gr. the situation in life
or ap applying to the class, or particular individual, applying to
the individual.
By If by a evidential circumstance applying to
the class an exclusion were to a warrant for exclusion
were created, the individuals of whom this class should be
composed would be the higher orders in the lump, including
the ruling few: and above all and with highest reason the
ruling one. Why? Because the more of the good things objects of general desire of
this world a man possesses derives from causes in a manner independently without the need of the good
will and opinion of others, the less is the need he has of that
will, and the less will be his anxiety and his endeavour
to obtain and retain it: to obtain and retain it by the
only means by any such means as the position of those
virtues for the by which the interest of other men is served.
