Rex v. Bedwell & Grosse
The Prisoners were Indicted & tried at the Old Bailey for the felonies
taking & Carrying away 60 pieces of Cotton &c.
It Appeared in Evidence that the Prisoners recd the
Cottons &c to Print according to Patterns Approved by
Harris Lathers Partners Drapers & had several times
done Business for the Prosecutors in the Printing Business,
That the Course of the Trade was when they delivered drapery
&c to Print the Drapers charged them to the Account of
the Printers & if Damage or Burnt or Spoiled the Printers
always got what they could by selling them & were
Answerable to the Drapers for the Value of the Linnens &c
delivered to them— that within a month after, the Pris.
Absconded & were taken on Board a Vessell going to America
together with the Linnens & Cottons & the mark of
Draper, the prosecutors were Cut off from the pieces
That Bedwell had at the time of of the
goods treated for his passage & that of 4 more to go to America
but it was not proved that the other partner was
to go at the same time that he did afterward go on board
where he was also taken.

delivery & in the Course of Dealing where the Printers were answerable.
