SUMMARY CERTAINTY. JUSTICES Activity of - Plan for inspiring.

v. Baily on the Road Acts p.6.7.8. Propose that the names of all Justices be names be struck out
of the Commissions but who do not take out their
Dedimus within a certain time — That taking
out their Dedimus they be obliged to act in every instance without
when applied to special excuse.

That every Justice be presented with a Gold
Medal inscribed with the date of his Dedimus, Also the name of the District for which they are appointed, & the initials of their name. either
gratis or paying the value The Head of the
King on one side & on the other the Balance
& naked Sword of Justice — or else that these
Emblems with the date as aforementioned be
embroider'd on the coat as a in a smaller limited - viz
smaller than the Stars of the several orders

That such marks give the Wearers Justices so dignified have precedence
at all assemblies above all persons not Lords
of Parliament or Heirs presumptive or apparent of Peers of the 3 Kingdoms, or Baronets, - & among themselves
according to the Seniority of their standings.

That if the Number willing to accept the Commission
upon these terms should be deemed too great, a competent
Number be excluded by Lot: to obviate the mode

of an exclusion ex judicio for delection.

A farther Honorary Premium might be given him
who should have in a given time have done the most business
of any in the County — This might be ascer-tained
in the case of convictions, by the records of their
convictions regularly transmitted: and the case of
complaints or informations dismissed, by of
the appearance of the parties signed by each, or their
refusal to sign witnessed by the signature of an
indifferent person.

That the names and residences of the Justices within
a certain distance as within 5 miles round Inscribed in conspicuous characters be stuck up at a particular
Station in on the outside of Churches Market- place Houses & other
such Public Buildings — & on all Turnpike - Houses
& Direction Posts

That Justices who for two years have not been such
a number of Sessions or else not being out of the
Kingdom (or else, in lieu have not transmitted a certain
number of Records of Conviction or examinations or
Decisions, to be struck out of the commission.
