Exclusion Number CERTAINTY EVIDENCE.

It is a rule that a Jury shall never be suffer'd
to convict a man of Perjury upon the Oath of
a single witness, because there it is but Oath against
Oath — A Jury is not to be trusted with one evidence against one, & yet they are with two against two .

At the same time that when there are two Oaths
against two Oaths , it is left to a Jury : + + Cases Note Temp. L Hardw. 304.

Now certainly, the credit of two men is as much
destroyd by the Oaths of two others, as that of one
man is by that of one another. — two is as much
equal to two, as one is to one.
