English practice Reports of decisions in Statute
In England no sooner does a clause in a
Statute become the subject of decision, than the public science
is <add>is loaded gratified</add> are cursed science is loaded with a history of the arguments at
large in ten or twenty or thirty folio pages which are either
useless or of which the alteration of a single word in
the Statute would have superseded the use. And thus
the Statute — law instead of staying, serves only to
