Tit. V. B. Judicial Estab
Parochial the Town-Canton, the more there are to share the
benefit of the whatever good order can be kept in
the Country-Canton, the more wealthy they are
the more they have to be are exposed to suffer
from any want of such good order, and the
more numerous and wealthy they are, the more
able they are to contribute to the expence.
In the following particulars respects my plan seems to
have the advantage.
1. In many a populous Canton one Judge Court will be found
altogether unequal to the task demand for justice.
This would be more especially the case upon my
plan which admitts of no tribunals of exception
for causes any more than for persons but gives to
every court the cognizance of every sort of cause. Answer: the inconvenience,
it will occurr, may be a in answer may be remedied,
by adding upon my plan to every such Canton
as many other Canton-Courts of convenient
jurisdiction as the business shall be found to require.
Reply To this it may be replied, that my plan
will have the preference in this respect that by
having several Parish-Courts, justic persons concerned
will have the less way to go for justice,
justice will be brought the nearer to men's homes,
and by that means be rendered so much the more
prompt as well as the less expensive. Rejoinder It may be
alled observed by way of rejoinder on the other side
