In Bonaparte's
Code anxiety to prevent
altercation of parties
in the presence of the
Judge
Note In Bonaparte's Civil Code, the parties being in the Judicature
of the Justice of Peace admitted into in face the presence of each
other and under the authority [and the Judge] great is the anxiety expressed to on the
score of the prevent irritation and confusion on the occasion of such
altercation as may naturally be expected: and on that
account for the prevention of that inconvenience, gentlemen
are required to be put exclusively by the Judge no person
other than the Judge is authorised to put a question to
any other. The character of In this any such anxiety no cause ground
of condemnation for disapprobation can assuredly be found: especially
when the character of the people he had to deal with
is considered.
