Procedure Scotch Reform. Motion for writ of Error Accounts in H. of Commons

Terms of a Motion designed for supplying the deficiencies in
the Accounts of Appeals given in to the House of Lords in pursuance
of Order dated 11 March 1807 on occasion of the Scotch Judicature Reform Bill. the are
grounded in the description
given in the appendix
to the Report of the Finance
Committee of 1798. p.

That an Account be laid before this House, stating
the number of Words of error made out by the Consistory
of the Court of Chancery in the two periods of seven years
each, the one ending with the year 1800 inclusive: the other
ending on the 11th of March 1807: distinguishing in each
year those returnable returned to the House of Lords, the Exchequer
Chamber, and the King's bench: and in the case of those
returnable form in the Exchequer Chamber, between those returned
from the King's bench, and those returned from the Court
of Exchequer and in the case of those returned to the
House of Lords between from the Kings Bench between those
to in which the suit was commencement of the suit was
originally in the King's bench, and those, if any, in which the commencement
of the suit was in the Court of Common Pleas
or any other Court fr in each such case what
other Court, from whence the suit went by writ of error into
the King's Bench: and distinguishing in every case in
which the distinction can be made, distinguishing in each
year viz by separate columns between the number of Writs of Error heard or argued
the number not heard or argued.

N.B. There can be no Bill of Exceptions sent up to
the House of Lords without a Writ of Error: consequently Bills of
Exceptions constitute no Distinct species of Appeal.

N.B. 2. for the use of the H. of Commons the
Accounts presented as above in the House of Lords will it is supposed
be with the help of the supplement: viz. of the com
document be obtainable by search made by in the Journal of the
House of Lords. If not, the Table i.e. if the Accounts
already presented as above can no otherwise be obtained than by
of the House of Commons, the teller of the the purpose of Accounts presented
to the Lords as above will, it is supposed be sufficient
for the of the proposed not contained in the proposed Motion.
