Jargon — the word
justified.
Nor let the word jargon which occurs
it will be observed, so frequently be taken for a
mere [epithet] term of vague reproach. It is applicable
strictly and properly to every discourse peculiar sort of [set of phrases] which
as a strict and
proper appellation a small knot of men make use of to express
what may be is capable of being expressed with equal precision
in that which is in use with other men.
